Benefits of Green Car Tax
A green vehicle is a term used for any vehicle that emits low carbon as compared to the conventional vehicles. Better known as zero emission vehicles these vehicles are today considered significantly important for it helps in saving the environment from further harm especially from the harmful gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. By reducing the emission of harmful gases into the environment we can not only create a healthier environment but can also reduce number of health problems that are caused by health problems.

In addition to the health and environment benefits that Green Car offers, one of the biggest advantages that it offers to the car owners is the reduced amount of car tax that green vehicle owner needs to pay. As we all are aware of the fact that every car owner needs to pay a certain amount of car tax in terms of road tax and fuel tax, green car owners enjoy a prominence by saving a good amount on the taxes. As per the latest laws, the amount that you need pay for car tax will completely depend on the type of fuel you use for your vehicle and the amount of carbon dioxide that it emits into the environment.

As far as the road tax is considered, it is calculated on the type of fuel and the carbon dioxide that your vehicle emits. In simple terms the lower the carbon dioxide emission the lower will be the road tax. There is no tax involved if the gas emission is below 100g/km. Coming down to fuel tax, for the vehicles consuming petrol and diesel, the owners have to pay a significantly high amount of car tax @ 50.4p/litre as compared to the vehicles using natural gas or green cars. As for the owners using natural gas as fuel this amount is reduced to 13.7p/litre, there is no fuel tax for those who own a green car that runs on electricity. Keeping in mind these two taxes, we can say that if you own green car tax that you will have to pay is negligible.
